How it works

Wear it. Bowl. Improve.

Your Watch catches every shot the moment you release — you just tap what fell. No phone on the lane.

1

Wear your Watch

On your bowling hand. Start a session from the LaneCaddie complication. No calibration, no setup.

2

Bowl normally

Every shot is detected automatically the moment you release, and its motion is captured.

3

Tap what fell

One tap for a strike or spare, a couple for a leave. The Watch keeps your running score.

4

See the motion

Per-shot tempo, rev, posting, and follow-through — and how they trend over every game and session.

What you get

A scorekeeper that actually understands your shot.

Wrist-IMU shot detection — a first in bowling

The moment you release, your Watch knows you bowled and captures the motion of the shot — your tempo, rev, posting, and follow-through. Then you tap what fell. No buttons to start a shot, no phone on the approach.

Powered by CoreMotion + on-device machine learning. Nothing leaves your wrist.

LaneCaddie Apple Watch hub: live game score with a one-tap Strike button and round widgets for pins, motion and tempo.

See the motion behind every shot

After each ball, LaneCaddie shows your tempo, rev, posting stillness, and follow-through — not as raw numbers, but as how this shot compares to your normal, with at-a-glance consistency dots. Stay green and you're repeating; drift yellow or red and you'll know before it costs you a frame.

Your rev shows as a relative change vs your own average — never an rpm. Axis rotation and tilt come in a later update.

Feel your tempo — a metronome on your wrist

LaneCaddie pulses your target tempo through the Taptic Engine as you step to the line, so you can groove your timing by feel instead of guesswork. Silent, eyes-up, lane-ready — and no other bowling app has it.

Ships day one — included in Pro. Set your BPM, then feel it in the approach.

LaneCaddie Apple Watch tempo settings: a metronome toggle with Learn/Avg/Pro presets and a BPM stepper.

Score the whole night on your wrist

Tap what fell, game after game — the Watch keeps your running score all night, no phone on the lane. The full frame-by-frame scoresheet is waiting on your iPhone when you want to review it.

LaneCaddie Apple Watch Pin Deck: tap which pins fell to log the shot, with the running game score above.

Know your arsenal — and your next ball

A built-in catalog of 60 balls across 11 brands — Storm, Roto Grip, Hammer, Motiv, Brunswick and more — with 100+ colorways and the specs that matter: coverstock, core, RG, differential, and the lane condition each is built for. Add your gear, tag which ball you threw on every shot, then compare your bag against the catalog to spot the gaps and pick your next ball with data, not a hunch.

You do the comparing — LaneCaddie gives you the specs.

Camera analytics — and fully automatic scoring

Point your iPhone down the lane and LaneCaddie measures ball speed, entry angle, and breakpoint board — and fills in your pin count automatically. The kind of data that used to require a $25,000 lane-side camera rig.

"I'm Jacob — a left-handed league bowler in Colorado. Every bowling app I tried made me tap my score in after each frame. The whole point of the Apple Watch is that it should know what you just did. So I built the one that does."

Questions

Before you install

How much does it cost?
One plan: $4.99/mo or $39.99/yr, with a 14-day free trial of the whole app. No ads, no hidden tiers, cancel anytime.
Are there ads?
No — none, ever. LaneCaddie is funded by the subscription, not by advertising or selling your data.
Does LaneCaddie score my game automatically?
Not yet — you tap which pins fell after each ball (one tap for a strike or spare, a couple for a leave), and the Watch keeps the running score. What is automatic today is shot detection: your Watch knows the moment you bowl and captures the motion. Fully automatic pin scoring is coming later in 2026 with the iPhone camera.
Does it work without an Apple Watch?
Yes — full iPhone manual scoring works on its own. The Apple Watch adds automatic shot detection, motion metrics, and the tempo metronome. It's all one plan, free for the first 14 days.
Can I look up my ball and plan my next one?
Yes — a built-in catalog of 60 balls across 11 brands with 100+ colorways. Tag which ball you threw on every shot, see how each performs, and compare your bag against the catalog's specs to spot the gaps and choose your next ball.
Which motion metrics do I get, and when?
Tempo, rev, posting, and follow-through all start after about your fifth shot of a session — each shown as a relative change vs your own average with a green/yellow/red dot (your rev is a relative %, never an rpm). Axis rotation and tilt arrive in a later update, and the deeper "what your best games have in common" insights build up as you log more sessions.
Can I bowl with my non-bowling hand on the Watch?
The Watch needs to be on your bowling hand for shot detection. Manual scoring works either way.
Does it work for left-handers?
Absolutely — it's built by a lefty and tested lefty-first. Right-handed form works exactly the same.
What happens if I cancel?
Cancel anytime in Settings. Cancel before your 14-day trial ends and you're charged nothing. If you cancel a paid subscription, you keep access through the period you've paid for — and your history is always yours to export via iCloud.
Will I lose my games if I switch phones?
No. iCloud backup and restore preserves your full history across devices.
When does the Camera tier ship?
Later in 2026 — it adds ball speed, entry angle, and breakpoint tracking, plus fully automatic pin scoring. Follow LaneCaddie on social for the announcement — we don't run an email list.
Is my data sold to advertisers?
No — the app has no ads and no trackers. Your session, motion, and health data stays on your device and in your own iCloud. We never sell or share it.

Detect every shot. Track every game.

$4.99/mo or $39.99/yr. 14 days free. No ads, ever. No tricks. Cancel anytime.
