Privacy Policy

LaneCaddie ("LaneCaddie," "the app," "we," "us") is a bowling scoring and performance-tracking app for iPhone and Apple Watch, made by Quack Quack Labs LLC. This policy explains what information the app uses, where it lives, and the choices you have.
The short version
LaneCaddie keeps your data on your device. Your bowling sessions, scores, motion metrics, ball arsenal, and health/fitness data stay on your iPhone and Apple Watch and — only if you enable it — in your own iCloud account. We do not collect this information on our servers, we do not sell or share it, and the app contains no ads and no third-party tracking.
Information the app uses
LaneCaddie does not require an account. You don't create a login, and we don't ask for your name, email, or contact information.
- Health & fitness data (Apple HealthKit). With your permission, LaneCaddie records each bowling session as a workout and reads/writes related health data such as heart rate, active energy (calories), workout duration, and heart-rate variability. This is used solely to show your in-app session stats and to log the workout to Apple Health. Your Health data is stored on your device (and in your iCloud if you enable Health sync). We never receive it on our servers, never sell or share it, and never use it for advertising or marketing. You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in the Apple Health app.
- Motion & activity data (CoreMotion). With your permission, LaneCaddie uses motion sensors on your Apple Watch to detect each bowling shot and measure metrics like tempo and follow-through. This processing happens on your device; the raw motion data is not transmitted to us.
- Bowling data you create. Scores, frames, games, sessions, per-shot motion metrics, your ball arsenal, and settings (such as handedness) are stored locally on your devices and, if enabled, backed up to your iCloud.
- Subscriptions and purchases. LaneCaddie subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple shares with us only the anonymous subscription status needed to unlock features; your purchase is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.
What we do not do
- We do not collect your personal data on our own servers.
- We do not include advertising, ad SDKs, or third-party analytics SDKs.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt, because we do not track.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your information with data brokers or advertisers.
Where your data is stored
Your data lives on your iPhone and Apple Watch. If you enable iCloud, your backups are stored in your own iCloud account, managed by Apple and protected by your Apple ID — not by us. Data on your devices is protected by iOS/watchOS security and device encryption.
Diagnostics
If you opt in to "Share With App Developers" in your iOS settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized crash and performance diagnostics to help us fix bugs. This is handled by Apple and contains no information that identifies you. You can turn it off in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.
Your choices and control
- Permissions: grant or revoke Health and Motion access anytime (Apple Health app; iOS/watchOS Settings → Privacy & Security).
- Delete your data: deleting the app removes its local data from that device. Health data you logged remains in Apple Health unless you delete it there. You can manage or delete iCloud backups in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
- Cancel a subscription: anytime in the App Store (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions).
Children's privacy
LaneCaddie is rated 4+ and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal data on our servers, it does not gather such data from anyone.
Third-party services
The only third party involved in the app's operation is Apple (HealthKit, iCloud, and App Store / StoreKit), governed by Apple's own privacy policy. LaneCaddie integrates no other third-party services in the app.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
